GWSS activity is back up, with a higher than typical trap catch for this time of year. In light of this uptick in activity, we’ll continue to report trapping results on a bimonthly basis to clarify whether this is a short-term response to the weather the last couple of weeks or a longer-term trend for this season.

GWSS Newsletter

By Diane Soto | February 27, 2017

There has been an increase in GWSS activity in Temecula since the last census, a month ago. Although such winter peaks in GWSS activity were common in the early days of the area-wide program, they haven’t been as apparent for the last several years. It does not necessarily indicate a problem for the coming year, but it is worth keeping an eye on. We will add an  additional census in the coming weeks to track things more closely.
